e-Genda system update
New features added for both site and server!
Today we have completed some main features of eGenda for both the website and the server-side daemon. They are now in the CVS Repository. Below is a list of features added.
New Website features:
- Registration now works
- User can now sort the minilist by Importance
- Configuration for website works (still under developement but now works)
- Allows e-Genda to run under windows
- Admin can specify website redirect information and path/location of include files
- Allows admin to make e-Genda available only locally if needed.
- New events input in place!!
- User can add to-do tasks with no date and time
- User can only add reminders on a
datebasis for to-do tasks with no specified date and time (currently not enforced however any other reminder settings will not get sent!)

- User can now enter event information for reoccuring events properly and easily.
- User can enter reminders much more easily now.
- User can add event info, reminders, and reoccurance information before saving one or the other(even if new things are added and removed before saving). The system is now able to smoothly handle all the information at once.
- New feature to allow miscellaneous notes to an event and choose to have them added to email reminders.
- Misc. Notes allow the user to add information he/she can not include due to cell phone textmessage length limitations.
- Load and Save progress is now displayed in current event popup window title bar.
- User is warned of opening new events when one has changes that need to be saved.
- Minilist can now sort by importance.
- Minilist displays icon for reoccuring events.
- Today module and minilist support display of reoccuring events.
- User can easily manage contact methods, user info, and time zone
- User can change DST support for time zone too :)
Server-side Features:
- XML configuration script.
- Allows user to specify gmail account login info, AIM login info, and database location and login info.
- User can now ask the e-Genda AIM robot what their next event is.
- Currently only works with events which have a reminder so it sends back a message stating the next event with a reminder set.
- New AIM disconnect detection code allows the deamon to discover when AIM drops our connection
- Used to be 15 minutes before the daemon would detect this now its between 1 and 3 minutes
- This allowed a much more reliable AIM connection
- Fixed bugs to allow to-do tasks with no date into system
- Added support for sending emails with misc notes included
Upcoming additions to e-Genda?
Nick has been working on the administration and user management side of e-Genda. Soon we should the admin setup working!
We are also working on getting documentation on e-Genda and hopefully a some sort of beta release in the coming months.
